Is Monogamy Natural? An Evolutionary Psychology Perspective William Costello |
To kick off the showcase, William Costello (PhDc) will be unpacking the evolution of monogamy and explore the classic debate of whether we're "wired" to pair bond or to be non-monogamous?
William Costello is a Galway native, and a PhD student in Evolutionary Psychology at Swansea University, working under the supervision of Dr. Andrew G. Thomas and Prof. Jason Davies. He is also a visiting researcher at SUNY New Paltz in Dr. Glenn Geher's Evolutionary Psychology lab.

Jealousy 101 with Unapolygetically |
We’ve all been asked the question by curious monogamists, “but don’t you get jealous?” The answer: yes, probably, at least some of the time. What we understand as polyamorists is that jealousy need not spell the end of your journey into non-monogamy. This workshop will clearly lay out the steps we can take towards managing our jealousy better, and leave you with some incisive questions to explore in private that will help you along your journey. There will also be a brief Q&A at the end, so bring your curiosity!

Tackling Couples Privilege with Open Relating |
Couple’s privilege is the largely unchallenged mainstream acceptance of the inherent importance and supremacy of a dyad relationship. Questioning the need for this privilege for couples is difficult enough. Why is it necessary to question, and how do we go about dismantling it?
Join Roy Graff from Open Relating in this one hour skills building session on how to be aware of, and actively dismantle your couples privilege in polyamory

Disabled and Polyamorous (Panel Discussion) Cathy Reay, Majeaste and Claire Louise Travers |
In this panel discussion about physical disabilities, join Cathy Reay, Claire Louise Travers and Majeaste in this panel discussion on the ways disability intersects our polyamory. What is it like to come to terms with a disability? How does disability affect the ways we can access, partake and lead in polyamorous spaces? How can it shape our non-monogamy? And what do we wish our partners, collaborators and spaces knew? This is a 90 minute panel discussion with a live Q&A
Cathy is a queer polyamorous writer based in the UK. She writes freelance on the subjects of sex and love, beauty, disability and single motherhood. Claire is hearing impaired, femme, and polyamorous and is the director of Poly Pages, the academic non-monogamous platform. Majaeste is a disabled lesbian polyamorus kinkster with a passion for creating and facilitating space for dialogue for those that trip the everyday narrative about how to love and live. Only recently coming to accepting her disability, Majaeste has been running kinky workshops and events to share how best to live, safely and consensually.
